There is nothing typical about 2020. And the holiday season sure looks different this year. Find some relief and self-care ideas below to keep anxiety and low mood at bay!

The pandemic has disrupted many facets of life. And now, it holds the potential to intensify our emotions and feelings during the holidays. Gathering in the same room with friends and family may not be possible for many this year due to travel restrictions, fear of getting sick, and infecting our loved ones.

If you are staying home, here are some things you can try to help you navigate the challenges of this year's holiday season:

Keep the connection

Everybody knows that a virtual gathering is not the same as a real-life one. However, we still should be incredibly thankful for technology and the internet for maintaining our relationships alive! Whether it's a virtual baking class with your mom, a distanced Thanksgiving dinner, or a karaoke night with friends - there's plenty of ways to honor & celebrate with our loved ones.

Boost your immunity

Taking care of our immune system is more important than ever! Having a balanced gut (about 70-80% of our immune system is in the gut) and managing stress levels are some of the best ways to keep your body healthy. For extra support, I recommend takingPlant People's Advanced Immune Power daily, a dietary supplement with functional Mushrooms, Astragalus - a potent immune-supporting herb - and Vitamin C. If you get low moods every winter, add a good Vitamin D supplement.

Self-care time

Enjoy the opportunity of having more time to rest and recharge. Write your next year's goals in a journal, meditate, listen to your favorite songs, read that book that's been sitting on your shelf. Or delight yourself with this creamy, decadent hot cacao recipe:

Camila's CBD Hot Cacao

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp cacao powder
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp organic smooth peanut butter
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 full dropper ofPlant People Drops+ Mind+Body
  • Pinch sea salt

Directions

Heat the milk in a small pot, but don't let it boil. Pour the milk into a high-speed blender with all the other ingredients. Add toppings if you'd like! This recipe makes a great bedtime beverage - just add Drops+ Sleep instead of Mind+Body.

Humans have an incredible ability to adapt. Be grateful for what you have and focus on what you can control. Have a happy, safe holiday!
